About the role
Location: Clemson University Nursing Building (605 Grove Road, Greenville, SC 29605). The postdoctoral position is full‑time with an initial term of 1 year, renewable contingent on funding and performance.
Responsibilities
- Manage, clean, harmonize, document, and analyze health‑related datasets.
- Communicate research results effectively and actively participate in preparing publication‑ready tables, manuscripts, conference abstracts and progress reports.
- Collaborate actively with team members, research staff, students, and external collaborators.
- Perform additional duties and responsibilities as needed, based on the evolving needs of the projects.
Qualifications
Required:
- PhD in nursing, public health, epidemiology, biostatistics, biomedical informatics, data science, psychology, gerontology, or any other related field.
- Expertise in at least one data science software package (e.g., R, Python, SQL).
- Experience in statistical analyses or machine learning techniques and ability to manage/analyze data and interpret results.
- Excellent written communication skills and strong potential for publications.
- Ability to multitask and adjust project priorities based on project needs.
- Enthusiasm to advance research in aging, ADRD, health services research, and data science.
Preferred:
- Experience working with large‑scale secondary health datasets (e.g., electronic health records, claims data, HRS, ADNI, All of Us, or similar aging/health datasets).
- Evidence of experience in quantitative data analysis and reproducible computational research using statistical and programming tools (e.g., R, Python) applied to health or population‑based research.
- Project management skills.
Schedule
Position is full‑time with a hybrid work schedule (in‑person and remote).
