About the role
The lab of Lu Gan is seeking a postdoctoral research associate to join our team. We are interested in eukaryotic chromatin organization and how chromatin structural states regulate transcription in both healthy and pathological states. Our lab uses cellular models to study the 3-D arrangement of nucleosomes in their physiological context, focusing on the use of cryo-electron tomography of cells as a key tool.
Responsibilities
- Lead up to two research projects
- Coordinate with collaborators
- Write and prepare figures for manuscripts
- Contribute to the lab's collaborative and supportive culture
- Publicize the lab’s work at conferences
Requirements
- Ph.D. or equivalent terminal degree in a relevant field
- At least one accepted, first-author, peer-reviewed publication prior to the start date of the appointment
- Experience in cryo-electron tomography of cells, CRISPR gene editing of mammalian systems, single-cell genomics, advanced light microscopy of mammalian cells or tissues
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects concurrently
- Independence, motivation, and intellectual ownership to lead a research project
- Excellent communication skills in English
