About the role
The Battery Laboratory in the Department of Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering at Yonsei University invites applications for a Postdoctoral Researcher position. This role focuses on advanced research in battery technology and related electrochemical systems.
Responsibilities
- Conduct independent and collaborative research on next-generation battery materials and systems.
- Design, synthesize, and characterize novel electrode and electrolyte materials.
- Develop and optimize battery performance through electrochemical testing and analysis.
- Publish research findings in high-impact peer-reviewed journals and present at international conferences.
- Mentor graduate and undergraduate students in laboratory techniques and research methodologies.
- Collaborate with industry partners and other research institutions on applied projects.
Requirements
- Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, Electrochemistry, or a closely related field.
- Strong background in battery research, including experience with lithium-ion, lithium-sulfur, or other advanced battery systems.
- Proficiency in material characterization techniques (e.g., XRD, SEM, TEM, XPS, Raman spectroscopy).
- Hands-on experience with electrochemical testing methods (e.g., CV, EIS, galvanostatic cycling).
- Demonstrated ability to publish research in high-impact journals.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English; proficiency in Korean is a plus.
Skills
- Synthesis and modification of battery materials (e.g., cathodes, anodes, electrolytes).
- Electrochemical analysis and battery performance evaluation.
- Data analysis and modeling using software such as MATLAB, Python, or COMSOL.
- Experience with glove-box techniques and air-sensitive material handling.
- Project management and team collaboration in a research environment.
