About the role
The position involves conducting field and laboratory research on weed management, harvesting cotton, and developing computer algorithms for rover. It also includes studying insect pests of peanut and their relationship with aspergillus mold and aflatoxin. Duties include working with industry partners to assess research needs, developing and implementing novel research that addresses aflatoxin risk reduction, collecting and managing data. Teaching labs and developing curriculum, supervising/hiring hourly workers and/or graduate students are also part of the responsibilities.
Responsibilities
- Conducting field and laboratory research on weed management, harvesting cotton, and developing computer algorithms for rover.
- Studying insect pests of peanut and their relationship with aspergillus mold and aflatoxin.
- Working with industry partners to assess research needs.
- Developing and implementing novel research that addresses aflatoxin risk reduction.
- Collecting and managing data.
- Analyzing and interpreting research results and writing manuscripts for publication in peer-reviewed journals.
- Writing proposals.
- Teaching labs and developing curriculum.
- Supervising/hiring hourly workers and/or graduate students.
Requirements
- PhD in Entomology, Plant Pathology, or related field.
- Experience in research on aflatoxin risk reduction.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
- Strong analytical and communication skills.
- Experience with computer algorithms and software development.
Qualifications
- Relevant/Preferred Education, Experience, Licensure, Certification:
- PhD in Entomology, Plant Pathology, or related field.
- Experience in research on aflatoxin risk reduction.
- Experience with computer algorithms and software development.
