Position : SAP Data & Analytics Cloud SME (Contract)

About the role

This is a remote position focused on SAP HANA and SQL development. The key requirement is strong HANA SQL or general SQL knowledge, with HANA Cloud/Native HANA and SQL skills being mandatory. SAP Datasphere experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead changes to existing HANA models and plan/implement new business requirements.
• Organize and track team deliverables in Jira, ensuring up-to-date status updates.
• Conduct daily calls with the Data team and Operations team.
• Collaborate with product owners from different functional areas to understand data and analytics needs.
• Assist the Data Architect with data quality, lineage, and dictionary using data management principles.
• Ensure development follows best practices and standards set by architects.
• Update, create, and own data models and functional flows end-to-end.
• Follow data governance principles and apply AI where applicable in all objects.
• Manage data integration from various sources (e.g., SAP S/4HANA, HANA Cloud, SAP Datasphere) to ensure data quality and seamless flow within data warehousing solutions.
• Develop, troubleshoot, test, and resolve data-related issues, reporting, and analytics in SAP tools.
• Quickly develop objects within HANA Cloud/Datasphere and analytics using SAC or BOBJ.
• Apply knowledge and hands-on experience with data migration tools and processes.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology or related field, or equivalent work experience.
• 10+ years of hands-on experience in SAP Datasphere, Native HANA, HANA Cloud, SAC, or Integrated Planning.
• Strong functional knowledge, especially in finance and supply chain planning areas.
• Strong understanding of data management principles.
• Ability to integrate data from different SAP systems by understanding data models and structures.
• Knowledge of Datasphere, SAP S/4, CDS views, SDI/SDA/SLT/BODS, SAP CPI, Cloud connector, API, HANA Cloud/HANA Modeling, and SAP IBP.
• Experience with agile delivery methodologies.
• Understanding of ERP implementation processes (e.g., planning, blueprinting, go-live, hypercare).
• Strong organizational skills and proficiency with Microsoft applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
• Proficiency in using Visio to create documents and flows.
• Highly customer-focused with a commitment to customer care and building long-term relationships.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.

Experience

• 20+ years of IT experience in SAP Development, Implementation, Upgrade, and production support for SAP ECC, S4HANA, BW/BW4HANA, BOBJ, and SAC.
• 10+ years of SAP Techno-Functional experience in functional modules: MM, IM, SD, PM, WM/EWM, TM, FI-CO, APO, IBP, SRM, and MDM.
• 10+ years of experience in SAP BI implementation and support projects for SAP BW, BW4HANA, and SAC.
• Full lifecycle involvement in BI projects: requirement gathering, high-level technical design, development, transport management, data extraction/loading, system upgrades, support packages, batch scheduling, QA testing, stabilization, performance tuning, and production support.
• Strong management capabilities, including managing both onshore and offshore teams.
• Strong teamwork, interpersonal skills, and ability to communicate with all management levels.
