Role Overview

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide expert advice and guidance to clients on all aspects of the planning process, including development proposals, regulations, policies, and procedures.
  • Prepare and submit planning applications, appeals, and other necessary documents to local authorities, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and compliance with relevant legislation.
  • Conduct thorough research and analysis of planning policies, guidelines, and market trends to inform project strategies and recommendations.
  • Collaborate with architects, architectural designers and other professionals to develop comprehensive planning strategies that align with client objectives.
  • Build and maintain positive relationships with local authorities, stakeholders, and relevant agencies, ensuring effective communication throughout the planning process.
  • Attend meetings, public consultations, and hearings as required, representing clients and presenting planning proposals confidently and persuasively.
  • Stay up-to-date with changes in planning laws, regulations, and industry best practices to ensure the delivery of high-quality and informed consultancy services.
  • Contribute to business development efforts by identifying and pursuing new opportunities, participating in proposal writing, and showcasing AGA Associate's expertise in planning consultancy.

Qualifications And Experience

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Urban Planning, Architecture, Geography, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Planning Consultant, with a strong focus on dealing with London-based local authorities.
  • Membership in the Royal Town Planning Institute (RTPI) is essential.
  • Proven track record of successfully preparing and submitting planning submissions, including applications, appeals, and related documents.
  • Excellent knowledge of London planning policies, regulations, and local authority procedures.
  • Strong analytical, research, and problem-solving skills, with an ability to critically assess complex planning issues.
  • Effective communication and negotiation skills, both written and verbal.
  • Proficiency in using relevant planning software and tools.

Salary Expectation

Salary for this position is dependent on the candidate's experience and qualifications.
