POS Implementation Engineer

Our client, a rapidly growing POS company, is looking to hire Implementation Engineers (IE’s) for a 12-month renewable contract.

About the role

The Implementation Engineer will be responsible for setup, configuration, and go-live support for their tablet, SAAS-based POS system at end-client locations. Responsibilities include conducting restaurant operation consultation sessions with owners and chefs to configure the POS correctly, running training sessions for front and back of house staff and restaurant management, and documenting implementation plans and network diagrams. This role requires 75% travel within associated markets.

Candidates will travel to and from rollout locations. Installs vary in length depending on the client but generally take 1 to 3 days per site and are often grouped into multiple nearby sites by geographic location.

Responsibilities

• Set up, configure, and support go-live for a tablet-based POS system at client locations
• Conduct consultation sessions with restaurant owners and chefs to ensure correct POS configuration
• Run training sessions for front of house, back of house, and restaurant management
• Document implementation plans and network diagrams
• Travel 75% of the time to client sites within assigned markets

Requirements

• 1-3 years of restaurant industry experience
• Functional experience using POS software, with a strong preference for back-office functions or troubleshooting experience (Toast experience strongly preferred)
• Experience in a PC-related IT role such as helpdesk or desktop support, or a strong aptitude for technology
• Excellent communication and customer service skills
• Ability to work well independently and as part of a team
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to think on your feet
• Positive, customer-oriented attitude with a "Please the Customer" mindset
• Mobile phone with email, internet access, and a camera
• Valid driver’s license
• Financial resources for incidentals (expensed weekly)
• Ability to travel 75% of the time
• Background and criminal checks required

Pay

The expected hourly rate range for this role is $22–$25 per hour. The posted range is an estimate; actual compensation will be based on the candidate’s experience, skills, and qualifications and will align with internal equity.
