About the role
Rockland Trust is seeking a Portfolio Manager to join our Investment Management Group. This role is designed for an experienced investment professional who excels in serving high-net-worth individuals and families.
Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary investment advisor for high-net-worth clients, delivering tailored portfolio strategies and ongoing investment guidance through regular in-person meetings.
- Lead and participate in client meetings—both independently and alongside Relationship Managers—with a strong emphasis on in-person portfolio reviews and relationship development.
- Build deep, trusted relationships with clients by maintaining a consistent on-site presence and proactively engaging in discussions around performance, goals, and market conditions.
- Partner closely with Relationship Managers to deliver a seamless, team-based client experience, supporting both ongoing relationships and new business development.
- Collaborate with internal financial planners, trust officers, private bankers, and other specialists to integrate investment strategies into comprehensive wealth plans.
- Design, implement, and actively manage customized portfolios aligned with client objectives, risk tolerance, tax considerations, and liquidity needs.
- Clearly communicate portfolio positioning, performance results, and market insights in a consultative, client-friendly manner during live meetings and reviews.
- Participate in prospect meetings, presenting investment philosophy and capabilities with confidence and a client-focused approach.
- Execute the firm’s investment philosophy through asset allocation, security selection, and manager due diligence across asset classes.
- Stay actively engaged in investment committee discussions, research initiatives, and portfolio strategy development.
- Ensure portfolios remain aligned with client mandates, internal policies, and regulatory requirements.
- Maintain detailed documentation of client interactions, portfolio decisions, and investment rationale.
- Contribute to continuous improvement in client experience, reporting standards, and investment processes.
Qualifications
- Experience: 5+ years of direct portfolio management experience serving high-net-worth clients, with a strong track record of managing discretionary portfolios and leading client relationships.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business, or a related field required; MBA or advanced degree preferred.
- Credentials: CFA® or CFP designation a plus; progress toward CFA or similar credential considered.
- Technical Skills: Experience with Bloomberg, FactSet, Morningstar, or similar investment platforms preferred.
