Portfolio Manager III- Entertainment & Sports Banking

We are seeking a Portfolio Manager to join our Credit Solutions team within the Entertainment & Sports Banking (Corporate) group, specializing in the music sector. This role focuses on managing a subset of existing credits and partnering in the origination of new credit facilities to achieve long-term risk-adjusted returns.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive credit recommendations and presentations to key risk partners for prospects and existing clients, including moderate to complex new credit structures, modifications, and extensions. Conduct thorough reviews of borrower and guarantor financials, such as current and historical financial statements, projections, third-party music library valuations, and cash flow proformas.
• Present credit recommendations aligned with the bank’s risk appetite and framework, adhering to all policies, processes, and procedures.
• Address clients’ credit needs with elevated service and credit acumen to ensure timely and appropriate responses.
• Oversee and manage the assigned portfolio, including timely risk rating assessments, reporting covenants, covenant compliance, and preparation of quarterly and annual reports.
• Mentor junior colleagues, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional growth.
• Own and manage an assigned credit portfolio, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and risk management practices. This includes underwriting all types of credit exposures, managing credit risk, and responding to prospective client inquiries.
• Analyze credit data and perform underwriting to assess creditworthiness, recommending appropriate structures to the Relationship Management team and clients. Prepare underwriting memorandums and approval documents for Credit Risk.
• Monitor and analyze portfolio performance through periodic reviews and covenant tracking.
• Practice effective risk management, maintaining high standards of credit quality and origination in alignment with the bank’s credit risk appetite and compliance with institutional and regulatory requirements.
• Collaborate with Relationship Manager(s) to successfully manage credit account relationships and work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure cohesive and effective credit operations. Participate in ad-hoc projects supporting the organization’s priorities.
• Provide exceptional client service by maintaining professionalism and effectively interacting with clients to understand their needs and deliver tailored credit solutions. Participate in joint sales pitches with Relationship Manager(s).

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent in Finance, Business, or a related field.
• Minimum 6 years of progressively increasing credit underwriting and portfolio management experience in relevant industries.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of credit underwriting and/or portfolio management experience for corporate clients in the music industry.
• Music industry-specific knowledge and expertise, including experience with:
  • Senior credit facilities secured by music library collateral.
  • Assessment of loan/music library performance through music lending conventions and metrics, such as LTV covenants, NRS, and decay rates.
• Advanced experience in credit management and lending operations, with a strong understanding of risk management principles.
• Desire to build leadership and coaching skills, with the ability to train and develop talent.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with senior leadership and cross-functional teams.
• Advanced analytical skills, with the ability to interpret complex data and make informed decisions.

Pay

Starting base salary: $122,535 - $208,715 per year. Exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience, and location. This job is eligible for bonus and/or commissions.
