About the Role
The Portfolio Manager I (PM I) is an onsite position responsible for managing an existing book of loans and relationships. Key responsibilities include:
- Conducting monthly calls to all existing clients and performing annual site inspections.
- Analyzing client financial statements and staying on top of approaching maturities to ensure timely renewals.
- Ensuring loan files are complete and in accordance with Bank policy, and actively managing technical exceptions.
- Identifying clients' financial needs and providing solutions using the Bank’s range of products and services, such as commercial/real estate credits, cash management, savings, or time deposit accounts.
- Analyzing loan requests to determine risk within the Bank’s policy framework and preparing required documents for approval.
- Monitoring economic conditions that may impact clients' financial health and increase risk to the Bank.
- Supporting the Regional Team Lead – Portfolio Management, Chief Lending Officer, and Lending team with additional duties as assigned.
- Performing all duties accurately, timely, and efficiently according to Bank policies, procedures, regulatory guidelines, and SBA SOP (if applicable).
Qualifications
You are a self-starter with an entrepreneurial spirit who thrives in a team environment. The ideal candidate has the following:
- Education/Certification: Bachelor’s Degree in Business or related field (preferred).
- Required Knowledge: Knowledge of banking and lending operations, regulations, and standard banking practices.
- Experience Required: Minimum of 3 years' experience in the financial services industry.
