Portfolio Manager - Community Banking Team
Position Overview
The Portfolio Manager supports the Banking Team in Community Banking through middle-market segments, focusing on companies with annual revenues up to $50 million. Key responsibilities include portfolio and risk management, client financial analysis, covenant testing, Term Loan Review preparation, and assisting in loan renewals.
Primary Job Functions
- Engages in portfolio and risk management of banking team clients ensuring compliance with bank credit policies and procedures.
- Supports the Loan renewal process by collecting and reviewing client financial information to support approvals.
- Aids in the preparation of CAMs with credit oversight.
- Assesses and clears past due collateral exceptions.
- Tracks and records property insurance.
- Partners with Commercial Relationship Manager liaising with bank clients, the Commercial Credit team, Commercial support/operations, and internal/external business partners.
Secondary Responsibilities
- In partnership with Commercial Relationship Manager, identifies and engages with clients in support of Bank’s portfolio management efforts.
- Might participate in loan approval process by contributing to the creation of Loan Committee presentations.
- Might visit clients with Commercial Relationship Manager as appropriate.
- Works closely with Banking Team CLA’s to clear exception items, board new business, and move client relationships forward.
Minimum Requirements
- Non-Officer: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business, Finance or related field and some formal commercial credit training or experience; or a position held in a related field.
- Officer: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business, Finance or related field and two or more years of formal commercial credit experience or a position held in a related field.
- AVP: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business, Finance or related field and three or more years of formal commercial credit experience or a position held in a related field.
Competencies
- Working knowledge of balance sheets and income statements.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
- General Banking (Credit/Debit) knowledge.
- Familiarity of Commercial underwriting guidelines.
- Consultative skills and client relationship management.
Location Details
This position is considered a hybrid role. With management approval, an incumbent may work a combination of remote and onsite work to perform the regular responsibilities of the role. Actual schedule requirements may vary based upon business needs.

Job levels and hiring decisions are based upon both the business needs of the department and the qualifications of the incumbent. In some cases, an incumbent may meet the requirements of an Officer or AVP level Portfolio Manager but may be hired in at a lower level based upon business needs and staffing dynamics.
Compensation & Benefits
- Portfolio Manager: Base pay ranges from $62,000 to $80,000, with a target bonus up to 10% of base salary based on various performance components.
- Officer: Base pay ranges from $69,000 to $90,000, with a target bonus up to 10% of base salary based on various performance components.
- AVP: Base pay ranges from $78,000 to $100,000, with a target bonus up to 15% of base salary based on various performance components.
