This position is primarily responsible for analysis, monitoring, and preparation of credit memorandums, criticized/classified loan memos, and annual loan reviews to assist loan officers in moving loan requests through the approval process.
Responsibilities
- Works with existing clients and prospects to gather required information.
- Ensures the accuracy of financial analysis prepared by the Analyst Team.
- Analyzes financial spreads to determine compliance with Bank credit policy.
- Prepares credit memorandums, criticized/classified loan memos, and annual loan reviews in Credit Quest software for lenders.
- Collaborates with the Team Assistant to collect documents needed by the loan documentation team.
- Requests preliminary title reports, environmental reports, and appraisals as directed by the loan officer.
- Analyzes borrowing base reports prepared by clients and notifies the loan officer of discrepancies.
- Monitors credits through management reports such as Out of Compliance Report, Annual Loan Review Report, Delinquency Report, and Maturing Loan Report.
- Understands and observes laws and regulations related to commercial lending.
- Projects professionalism in appearance and attitude when dealing with customers.
- Coordinates with other departments as necessary.
- Completes all required training modules with passing scores.
- Follows all state and federal laws, as well as Riverview policies and procedures.
Relationships
- Maintains a strong working relationship with the Commercial Loan Team Leader, peers in the lending area, and other support areas.
- Maintains contact with clients to ensure appropriate service levels.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, or a related field is preferred.
- Two or more years of commercial lending support experience.
- Strong analytical skills and excellent communication skills.
- Knowledge of bank services or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Skills
- Ability to communicate with lenders and build strong working relationships.
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret business and personal financial statements and tax returns.
- Understanding of bank lending policy and governmental regulations.
- Ability to prepare concise credit memorandums, annual loan reviews, and criticized/classified loan memos that define risk and financial condition.
- Ability to accurately analyze asset-based lending borrowing bases.
- Ability to identify concerns or changes in the financial position of borrowers and communicate them to the lending officer.
- Ability to work with mathematical and financial concepts such as global cash flow and other financial ratios.
- Ability to resolve day-to-day problems with some assistance and handle a variety of issues.
- Ability to develop loan structures that protect the bank with some assistance.
- Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
- Basic computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Office and Credit Quest lending system.
Physical Demands
- Regularly required to communicate effectively via phone, video, messaging, and email.
- Required to use computer and office equipment such as a computer, printer, and copier.
- Frequently required to occupy a workstation for long periods of time.
Pay
The salary for this role will be between $77,000 and $111,000 a year, depending on factors such as skills and prior relevant experience.
