About the role

The Energy Research & Development Division (ERDD) deploys over $200 million annually to advance new scientific approaches and technology innovations to meet the state’s clean energy and climate change policies. The Portfolio Management Unit (PMU) provides responsive and expert cross-cutting support with portfolio management of ERDD programs.

Requirements

The PMU is responsible for managing and overseeing the execution of over $200 million per year in research grants, contracts, and amendments in areas of advanced technology research covering a wide range of energy research areas. PMU’s work supports both division and commission-wide efforts.

Qualifications

Under the general direction of the Deputy Director, the incumbent serves as the highest-level resource specialist and performs a variety of supervisory, program evaluation, planning, policy analyses, and formulation activities, as well as technical review and feedback to staff on written work products. The Supervisor leads, supervises, and directs a multi-disciplinary team working on a variety of technical and analytical tasks related to the portfolio management of the Division’s programs.

Skills

The Supervisor also advises and assists the Branch Managers, Executive leadership, and Commissioner leadership on a broad spectrum of subject areas within the unit’s portfolio.

Benefits

In addition, the incumbent represents and supports the Division and CEC in meetings, briefings, conferences, and workshops, engaging other agencies, the Legislature, companies, research organizations, communities, and other interested parties.

Pay

The starting salary range for this position is $9,673.00 - $12,020.00 per month.

Schedule

This position is remote-centered, which means the incumbent works 50 percent or more of their time from an alternate work location.
