Portfolio Director, Air and Space Force Programs

For our client, we are seeking a Portfolio Director, Air and Space Force Programs to join the team of a leader in the Manufacturing & Automotive space. This role will oversee a portfolio of federal defense programs with a strong focus on execution, financial performance, and customer outcomes. The position requires close partnership with government stakeholders and internal program leaders to ensure complex, multi-program work is delivered effectively. It is well suited for a strategic leader who can guide teams through change, strengthen client relationships, and support growth across recompete and expansion opportunities. Location: Remote - US based candidates only, no visa sponsorship available Compensation: $157,500 – $283,500 annually Responsibilities Lead and oversee a portfolio of Air Force and Space Force programs Ensure successful execution of scope, schedule, budget, and compliance Manage portfolio financial performance and communicate changes to leadership Build and maintain strong relationships with Air Force and Space Force clients Provide leadership and guidance to program managers and teams Identify and mitigate risks while driving continuous improvement Support business growth through recompetes and on-contract expansion Qualifications Bachelor's degree in a relevant field 20+ years of experience managing federal defense programs, contracts, or portfolios Experience overseeing large IDIQ, task order-based, or multi-program contracts for Air Force, Space Force, or DoD Strong understanding of federal contracting and program delivery Demonstrated leadership and financial management skills Experience leading change management initiatives in complex environments Ability to drive organizational change, including stakeholder engagement Benefits Best-in-class medical, dental, and vision coverage Paid time off and flexible work schedules Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP) participation 401(k) retirement plan Life insurance coverage Holidays to fit your busy lifestyle Our client is an equal opportunity employer.
