About the Role
The Floor Tech is responsible for the cleanliness of the physical plant and facility environment, ensuring optimal functioning of all facility housekeeping equipment.
Responsibilities
- Assures that resident areas are clean, orderly, and safe at all times.
- Monitors buffer and vacuum cords for resident safety.
- Monitors needed repair to facility equipment.
- Follows directions of Environmental Service Supervisor and facility Plant Manager in all duties and responsibilities.
- Assumes responsibility for infection control within the facility at all times.
- Prevents the spread of infection to self and others.
- Ensures sanitation and cleanliness of housekeeping equipment at all times.
- Assures the sanitation, cleanliness, and organization of equipment storage areas and janitor closets.
- Ensures housekeeping chemicals are labeled correctly and stored properly in designated areas.
- Assumes responsibility for the environmental safety of residents, visitors, and staff (e.g., equipment, cords, wet floor signs).
- Uses proper body mechanics for lifting and operating heavy equipment.
- Monitors housekeeping equipment repair and notifies supervisor immediately of any equipment failure.
- Monitors condition of equipment cords (e.g., buffers, vacuums).
- Ensures hallways and entrances are clear of debris at all times.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- High School graduate or equivalent is preferred.
- Ability to follow directions.
- Ability to perform duties and responsibilities with minimal supervision.
Physical Demands
- Requires frequent walking, standing, stooping, bending, pushing (vacuuming), pulling, carrying, and lifting up to 50 pounds.
- Requires wearing a backpack vacuum.
Schedule
Full time, every other weekend.
