About the role

The United Group of Companies, Inc., a full-service, vertically integrated leader in real estate development and management with over 50 years of industry expertise, seeks a Porter to join the team at Nobb Hill, one of its professionally managed multi-family apartment communities in Syracuse, NY.

Responsibilities

• Vacuums all common area carpet and tile floors
• Touch up cleaning of laundry rooms
• Cleans all glass in the vestibules of all buildings
• Cleans all common area restrooms
• Weekly: Sweeps all stairwells
• Vacuums, sweeps, dusts all Community Rooms
• Cleans trash rooms and trash cans
• Vacuums and dusts all offices
• All windows in the building are to be cleaned inside and out, twice per year
• All common area carpeting is to be cleaned, twice per year
• Maintains the inventory of all cleaning products
• Maintains all cleaning equipment and have serviced at appropriate times
• Affords assistance in the cleaning of vacant units
• Affords assistance in other items as needed, i.e. landscaping, minor maintenance items, grounds maintenance, painting, and being available for emergency situations

Physical Demands + Work Environment

• Must be able to stand/walk for 8 to 10 hours
• Frequent body movements including ability to lift up to 50 pounds, bend, stoop, squat, reach, push, and pull
• Frequent exposure to outdoor spaces, service areas, or other environments which will, by their nature, have variances in air quality, temperature, walking surfaces, lighting, and other physical aspects
• Potential exposure to substances such as paints, cleaning agents, chemicals, etc. which may be considered irritants
• Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals to perform essential functions

Job Overview + Requirements

• Job Type: Porter
• Salary: $23 per hour
• Work Hours: Full-time, Monday - Friday, with staggered shifts between 9:00am and 8:00pm, including rotating weekend shifts
• Physical Requirements: standing, kneeling, lifting, carrying, etc.
• Required Education: High School Diploma
• Required Experience: 1 + years of experience in residential property maintenance is preferred. Experience in either residential or commercial cleaning, maintenance or general facility support.
