About the role

This Porter role at Steinway & Sons is responsible for maintaining a clean office and factory environment at our manufacturing plant in Astoria, Queens. The position involves cleaning the cafeteria, bathrooms, and workspaces in both factory and office areas as assigned. The shift for this role begins at 2 PM or later.

Responsibilities

• Cleans floors, windows, tables, and chairs in the factory
• Fills toilet paper, paper towels, and soaps in restrooms as required
• Performs regular cleaning of factory toilets
• Completes all daily maintenance functions and 5S requirements (e.g., clean and sweep area)
• Trains others as required
• Enters data in Time & Attendance (T&A) and closes work orders as required
• Performs other functions in the department as necessary

Requirements

• No prior experience required; approximately 2-4 weeks of break-in training provided
• Moderate degree of physical effort and light to moderate mental effort
• Exposure to soil, odors, and fumes from cleaning chemicals
