Position Overview

Provide quality cleanliness and oversight to assigned location.

Responsibilities

• Able to work weekends and evenings as needed.
• Maintain cleanliness in assigned areas, including floor care (mopping, sweeping, buffing, stripping and waxing), cleaning bathrooms, emptying trash, separating recyclables, emptying garbage, wiping windows and walls, and cleaning stairways.
• Carry out minor repairs and building maintenance throughout assigned areas.
• Responsible for exterior snow and ice removal and upkeep of the ground, including sidewalk maintenance, landscaping, and other exterior aspects.
• Submit work orders as needed.
• Order maintenance and cleaning supplies, paper supplies, lightbulbs, garbage bags, etc., and maintain biweekly inventory.
• Assist staff with special events by setting up chairs and tables, ensuring the area is clean and safe.
• Maintain building maintenance tools and machinery in good working condition.
• Assist in moving and storing program supplies, office furniture, equipment, dorm furniture, consumer belongings, and other items as appropriate.
• Comply with all SUS Employee Policies, Procedures, Protocols, and Cooperate Compliance Policies.
• Assist during emergencies in the facility.
• Wear SUS maintenance uniform and keep it clean and presentable at the start of each shift.
• Attend staff meetings, group supervision, and trainings as assigned.
• Respond to consumer needs promptly, accurately, and with courtesy and respect.
• Represent the organization positively to outside resources.
• Support the mission and values of SUS and address behavior that undermines group effectiveness or core values.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum of 2 years’ experience in maintenance, preferably in the social service or related field.
• Experience working within a residential, crisis, or 24‑hour service setting.
• Basic computer skills in Word, Excel, and Outlook.
• Basic knowledge of building maintenance tools and basic repairs.

Preferred Qualifications & Skills

• Bilingual English/Spanish speaking a plus.
• Basic computer skills (e.g., MS Office suite and Windows).
