Job Overview Porters carry out a variety of essential tasks including; patient movement, collection of all waste streams, delivery/collection of linen and many other important duties that require a great deal of physical dexterity and the ability to function in a very fast paced and demanding environment. Many of the tasks can be particularly repetitive and physically demanding. Please see job description for further information. NO AGENCIES PLEASE Main duties of the job Please note that Porters new to the Trust are required to work on a flexible basis covering a variety of shifts which will include some bank holiday and weekend working. The successful candidates will provide effective / efficient Portering services using all equipment and resources available to the department. Primary duties will be to ensure that patients are transported safely between wards and departments, the collection of all waste streams, delivery and collection of linen to wards and other associated tasks.
