Responsibilities

Porters are responsible for maintaining AVE Brand Standards of cleanliness and presentation, while creating a positive, safe and organized work environment. Specific duties include:

• Cleaning designated assigned amenity spaces and indoor/outdoor areas, including sweeping, mopping, vacuuming floors, dusting, polishing furniture, cleaning glass, etc.
• Troubleshooting and repairing resident service requests, including appliance repair, HVAC repair, plumbing, and electrical.
• Maintaining community exterior maintenance and presentation, including watering flowers, leaf clean up, cleanliness of breezeways, trash pick-up, etc.
• Assisting maintenance with suite turn over and work requests, including changing light bulbs, painting, caulking, shampooing carpet, furniture placement, replacing HVAC filters, etc.
• Maintenance coverage after hours (as needed) and handling community emergencies that may arise outside of normal business hours.
• Snow removal to ensure the community is always clear and accessible during snow falls.

Requirements

To be considered for this role, you should have:

• A minimum of one to two years of janitorial and/or maintenance experience, including plumbing, electric, carpentry, appliance repairs, etc.
• Demonstrated strong guest service skills and a positive attitude.
• High-level cleanliness and presentation standards.
• A reliable source of transportation for required on-call rotation and community emergencies that may occur outside of normal business hours.
• Availability to work the required full-time schedule of Tuesday through Saturday 7:00am to 3:30pm with on-call rotation.

Qualifications

Demonstrated energetic, self-motivating, and "can do" positive attitude is required.

Skills

Strong guest service skills and ability to work in a fast-paced environment are necessary.

Pay

Compensation for this role is $18+/hour, with individual compensation decisions varying based on experience, qualifications, education, and geographic location. Additional bonus potential is available, paid out on a monthly and/or quarterly basis.

Schedule

The required schedule for this role is Tuesday through Saturday 7:00am to 3:30pm, with on-call rotation as needed.
