About the role

Konecranes is seeking service technicians with mechanical and electrical skills to join our team. The ideal candidate will work in a safety-first environment, performing mechanical maintenance and troubleshooting on various types of cranes.

Responsibilities

  • Perform mechanical maintenance and inspections on RTGs, STS, RMG, ASC, Straddle Carriers, Munck Loader, Goliath Gantry, Level Luffing cranes.
  • Conduct on-site mechanical troubleshooting to determine and implement repairs using visual inspection, test procedures, and appropriate test equipment.
  • Work with customers and facility directors to ensure proper crane care.
  • Use a company vehicle for travel and complete daily paperwork accurately and completely.
  • Document and log quotes provided to customers and generate follow-up documents.
  • Review and obtain customer signatures on daily service reports.
  • Maintain a professional appearance and image, keep equipment in good condition, and manage inventory.
  • Generate sales and service leads during service calls and identify appropriate Konecranes personnel for customer needs.
  • Develop a thorough understanding of service literature, policies, and labor rates.
  • Provide customers with a "Safety Summary" and obtain signed copies of the document.
  • Communicate regularly with the local office and report to the service supervisor.
  • Order parts for service jobs and bill projects accordingly.
  • Work shifts, including 24-hour calls and overtime as needed.
  • Complete a "Safety Audit" on limit switches and crane operation before leaving the customer's premises.

Qualifications

  • Education: Two-year associate degree in Industrial Electrical/Mechanical Technology or related field, or equivalent vocational/technical training and experience.
  • Experience: Minimum one (1) year of experience involving mechanical and/or industrial troubleshooting and repair.

Salary

$30 - $45 per hour, pay determined by skills, location, internal equity, market/data analysis, years of relevant experience, degrees/certifications, technical assessment score, etc.

Company Vehicle

Candidates must pass a Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) check and receive a work truck and gas card for business use.
