Port Operations & Receiving Specialist
Port Operations & Receiving Specialist Responsibilities:
- Oversee inbound shipments at assigned ports to ensure timely discharge and processing.
- Cook with terminal operators, stevedores, carriers, and drayage providers to maintain efficient material flow.
- Maintain operational tracking logs for inbound and outbound material movement.
- Report on key metrics including turnaround time, dwell time, and receiving accuracy.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance port efficiency and reduce delays.
Port Operations & Receiving Specialist Skills & Qualifications/Requirements:
- Affiliate's or Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Operations, or related field preferred.
- 3–5 years of experience in port operations, terminal coordination, logistics operations, or heavy materials handling.
- Experience working directly with port terminals and transportation providers preferred.
- Strong understanding of freight movement and port discharge processes.
- Strong operational coordination and execution skills.
- Ability to manage multiple shipments and priorities simultaneously.
- Proficiency in Excel and logistics tracking systems.
- Results-driven with a focus on efficiency and cost control.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-volume port environment.
- Strong communication skills for coordination with external operators and internal teams.
Pay: $75,000-$85,000 annual salary
