Pool Phlebotomist, Laboratory, Bethesda East, Per Diem, Shift Varies

Responsibilities

• Performs phlebotomy in accordance with established National Patient Safety Goals and Baptist Health published protocols.
• Receives specimens into the Laboratory Information System (LIS) accurately and timely.
• Distributes specimens to testing sections in accordance with collection priority, prioritizing STAT over Routine.
• Faxes and distributes results as necessary.
• Maintains knowledge and deployment of policies and procedures used within the department and throughout the hospital to address patient questions and concerns.

Requirements

• AAMA Certified Medical Assistant.
• Phlebotomist Certification.
• Phlebotomy and computer skills.
• Excellent interpersonal communication skills, verbal and written.
• Excellent customer service skills.
• Ability to work in a high volume, fast-paced work environment.

Qualifications

• High School, GED, or equivalent.
• Phlebotomy and/or medical assistant certificate.
• Experience in hospital phlebotomy, including pediatric, geriatric, oncology, and neonatal patients.
• Bilingual proficiency preferred.
• Available to work 3A-1:30P and 1P-11:30P.

Pay

Estimated pay range for this position is $23.50 / hour, depending on shift as applicable.

Schedule

Candidate must be available to work 3A-1:30P and 1P-11:30P.
