About the Role

Under the direction of an assigned supervisor, clean athletic offices, pools, and facilities of an assigned school during an assigned shift; perform minor repair and maintenance and assure security of school during assigned hours.

Responsibilities

• Clean athletic offices, pools, and facilities using modern cleaning methods
• Maintain floors, carpets, furniture, walls, fixtures, pools, and athletic facilities
• Use cleaning materials, disinfectants, and equipment properly
• Follow safety practices and work methods, policies, and objectives
• Perform minor repairs and maintenance
• Ensure security of the school during assigned hours
• Apply proper lifting techniques
• Maintain pools using appropriate methods and equipment
• Perform basic record-keeping
• Interact with the public professionally
• Handle pool chemicals safely and perform basic math for chemical applications

Requirements

• Two (2) years experience in the maintenance and operation of commercial-type swimming pools and related equipment
• One (1) year pool maintenance experience including pool chemical applications
• Any combination equivalent to sufficient training and experience to demonstrate the required knowledge and abilities
• Proficiency in reading, writing, and speaking English
• Valid California Class C Motor Vehicle Operator’s license with a satisfactory driving record (required at time of employment and maintained throughout employment)
• Current American Red Cross First Aid Certificate (required at time of employment and maintained throughout employment)
• Current CPR certificate (required at time of employment and maintained throughout employment)
• Certified Pool Operator (CPO) or Aquatic Facility Operator (AFO) certification (required at time of employment and maintained throughout employment)
