About the role
The Pool Maintenance Specialist Trainee will maintain pools at client's and associated facilities for the company.
Responsibilities
- Assists Pool Maintenance Specialist to clean and maintain filled pools and facilities by skimming, vacuuming, and performing chemical treatments
- Periodically empties pools to perform deep cleaning, including brushing and scrubbing walls, floors, and surfaces
- Assists Pool Service Specialist to regularly test pool water for pH; chlorine; presence of bacteria, algae, or contaminants; and other data
- Receives training from the Pool Service Specialist to ensure correct color, chemistry, and clarity of pool water
- Calculates and adds chemical treatments to maintain pH balance, eliminate contaminants, or correct other problems
- Inspects pool and equipment
- Assists Pool Service Specialist to complete and maintain daily logs outlining chemical usage, water quality, repairs, and supplies
- Performs other related duties as assigned
Requirements
- Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills
- Understanding of pool cleaning chemicals and equipment related to swimming pools
- Mechanical and manual labor skills related to aquatic facilities and equipment
- Math skills to calculate chemical additives and ratios
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- One year of related experience required
- Must be able to lift up to 80 pounds at a time
- Must have adequate sight and hearing to properly interpret water analysis, equipment readings, and complete recordkeeping
- Physically able to perform all aspects of cleaning, checking, and monitoring pools and facilities
