Pool Attendant

About the Role

As a Pool Monitor, you’ll be responsible for ensuring appropriate pool access for residents and guests, basic pool upkeep, and rules enforcement.

Responsibilities

  • Enforce all pool rules and regulations in a polite and professional manner.
  • Move furniture to the pool area prior to swim commencing.
  • Ensure bathers are showering prior to entering the pool.
  • Clean up the general pool area by returning chairs and equipment back to proper locations.
  • Attend pool monitor meetings.

Requirements

  • Minimum of a High School diploma.
  • Experience and training in customer service is highly desirable.
  • Experience in an aquatic setting is desirable.
  • Highly effective interpersonal skills, problem-solving abilities, and advanced communication skills.
  • Must present a professional image, be outgoing, and able to work with all types of people.
  • Must be energetic and accountable for one’s own work, decisions, and safety of oneself and others.

Physical Requirements

  • Capable of working extended hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as necessary.
  • Must be available to work full time.
  • Able to see well enough to read faint or partially obscured writing or painting, with corrective lenses if needed.
  • Must be able to speak English in a clear and understandable voice for communication with people of various education levels and capabilities, including over the telephone.
  • Position involves sitting, standing, stooping, kneeling, pushing, shoving, lifting, and carrying objects up to 45 lbs throughout the day.
  • Must be able to climb several flights of stairs if necessary.
  • No health conditions that could interfere with working in heat, prolonged walking, etc.
  • Must be mentally alert, detail-oriented, and possess good reasoning skills.
  • Comfortable working in extreme weather conditions (e.g., high temperatures).
