About the Role
Performs basic polysomnographic testing and initiates sleep therapies, including PSG, MSLT, and MWT. Responsible for pre-scoring sleep studies and conducting procedures independently according to physician orders and departmental policies.
Responsibilities
- Conducts sleep studies following physician and departmental guidelines.
- Troubleshoots and maintains equipment.
- Ensures quality, artifact-free sleep recordings.
- Communicates effectively regarding patient, equipment, and issues.
- Obtains patient information and consent prior to testing.
- Serves as a preceptor for students.
- Adheres to infection control and attendance standards.
- Performs additional duties as needed.
Requirements
- Graduate from accredited respiratory or sleep program or possess RPSGT credential.
- Certification as CRT, RRT, or RPSGT; licensure as required by state.
- Computer literacy with MS Office and data entry skills.
- Ability to treat adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients.
