Job Description
Essential Functions:
- Affords assistance with patient scheduling, physician, psychologist, and facility coordination.
- Completes technical reports, processes patient charge information, and maintains accurate medical records and documentation.
- Identifies and performs basic and intermediate technical troubleshooting and artifact identification and elimination.
- Maintains safety during procedures and communicates with other patient care support staff.
- Performs a variety of polysomnography procedures on patients with possible injury and disease resulting in sleep disorders according to established policies and procedures.
- Prepares patients for testing, communicating procedure information and answering questions, and ensures accurate electrode application.
- Collates information pertinent to the interpretation of the test results.
- Stocks and maintains supplies and equipment, ensuring adequate levels and proper functioning.
- Prepares patient rooms for polysomnography procedures.
Education Requirement
Education:
- High School Diploma or equivalent, required.
- Bachelor's Degree in Health Sciences or related field, preferred.
- Graduate of an AMA approved two year Respiratory Therapy Program, preferred.
Licensure Requirement
Licensure:
- (not specified)
- Eligible for registration within twelve months of employment as a Polysomnography Technologist, required.
- Current CPR certificate, required.

- One year of experience in Polysomnography, preferred.
