Responsibilities
- Performs comprehensive polysomnographic testing and analysis.
- Scores PSGs according to AASM’s guidelines and departmental policies.
- Is proficient in scoring/reporting functions, including generating reports and interacting with physicians in record review.
- Affords assistance with quality assurance and performance improvement measures.
- Assists the lab supervisor in all areas, acts as a resource technologist when necessary, and takes call when needed based on departmental need.
- Ensures the flow of patients and polysomnographic studies in the department on patients of all ages.
- Maintains high quality of standards in accordance with TJC, the American Academy of Sleep Medicine, the American Association of Sleep Technologists, and Baptist Health Systems.
Requirements
- Graduate of a qualified BRPT approved polysomnographic program.
- Registered Polysomnographic Technologist (RPSGT) certification with a minimum of 2 years of PSG Scoring experience.
- Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent.
- Basic Life Support certification.
- Registered Polysomnographic Technologist (RPSGT) certification.
Skills
- Proficiency in scoring/reporting functions.
- Ability to interact with physicians in record review.
- Knowledge of TJC, the American Academy of Sleep Medicine, the American Association of Sleep Technologists, and Baptist Health Systems’ standards.
