Overview
Queens Mesivta is seeking an enthusiastic and experienced High School Political Science Teacher to join their team. The role involves motivating and challenging students across regular and honors-level courses, promoting critical thinking and analytical skills, and preparing students for future success.
Responsibilities
- Plan, prepare, and deliver lesson plans and instructional materials that facilitate active learning.
- Teach engaging and rigorous curricula tailored to diverse learners.
- Develop schemes of work, lesson plans, and tests in accordance with established procedures.
- Instruct and monitor students in the use of learning materials and equipment.
- Manage student behavior by establishing and enforcing rules and procedures.
- Provide appropriate feedback on work.
- Encourage and monitor the progress of individual students and use information to adjust teaching strategies.
- Maintain accurate and complete records of students' progress and development.
- Establish and communicate clear objectives for all learning activities.
- Provide a variety of learning materials and resources for educational activities.
- Observe and evaluate student's performance and development.
- Assign and grade class work, homework, tests, and assignments.
Qualifications
- Degree in a relevant field of study from an accredited college or university. A Master's degree or NY State teaching certification is preferred.
- Professional experience related to the field of study.
- Educator with experience in high school political science instruction is preferred.
