Political Science Adjunct Instructor

About the Role

The Department of Behavioral and Social Sciences seeks adjunct instructors in Political Science for the 2026-2027 academic year, beginning in the Summer term. Instructors will teach day and/or evening classes using various teaching methods and technology, including Brightspace learning management system. Courses may be held at multiple campuses: Berkeley, Dorchester, Mount Pleasant, Palmer, and Thornley.

Responsibilities

• Teach face-to-face American Government courses
• Instruct day and/or evening classes at assigned campuses
• Utilize technology and various teaching methods in instruction
• Employ Brightspace learning management system for course delivery

Requirements

• Master’s degree in Political Science or a master’s degree with 18 graduate semester hours in Political Science
• Submission of unofficial transcripts reflecting the minimum requirements with the application (required for consideration)
• International transcripts must be evaluated through World Education Services (WES)

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous college-level teaching experience
• Proficiency with learning management systems and publisher platforms
