Policy Rating Technician

About the role

The Policy Rating Technician position involves processing applications of insurance, renewals, endorsements, cancellations, audits, binders, and related material following specific procedures and guidelines under general supervision.

Responsibilities

• Rates and/or codes new business, renewals, endorsements, cancellations, and performs other policyholder service functions.
• Accurately enters business on CRT.
• Maintains policy files in proper order.
• Communicates by phone or letter with agents and company departments as needed.
• Interprets and applies verbal and/or written instructions, manuals, and rates.
• May prepare requests for reports from information or service bureaus.
• Assists with other duties as assigned within the department or elsewhere on request.

Requirements

• A high school education or its equivalent is preferred.
• Six months to one year of office experience in a related field.
• Ability to operate calculators and CRT terminals.
• Mathematical skills, good penmanship, and the ability to reason, communicate, cooperate, and work well with others.
