Position Summary
Under immediate supervision, processes, assembles, audits and summarizes Medical Stop Loss, Organ Transplant and MedPlus (and any future products acquired) submissions for review and acceptance by the Underwriter. Responsible for the preparation of sold documentation, proper and timely issuance of all new and renewal business policies and various other policy updates.
Key Responsibilities
- Relying on limited experience and knowledge, the Policy Analyst is responsible for accomplishing the following assignments. These assignments are varied in nature and frequently non-routine.
- Enter sold case data into proprietary database.
- Prepare sold documentation from proprietary database and route to appropriate contact for signature.
- Interface with underwriting, premium, claims, licensing and any other applicable department to resolve contract issues.
- Update and maintain Outstanding Documents log on a daily basis.
- Follow-up and collect all sold case documentation in a timely manner.
- Review all returned, signed documents and process in a timely manner.
- Act as a liaison between Administration, Underwriting and Sales departments.
- Issue Medical Stop Loss, Organ Transplant and MedPlus (and any future products acquired) policies which consists of a pre-audit review, reviewing for discrepancies and completeness, enter data in the system and email the contract out.
- Email the UR Transmittal Form (new/terminated) for UR Vendors that submit electronic pre-certs.
- Process Policyholder name and address changes.
- Review Plan Documents and Amendments (within 24 hours if there are claims pending).
- If not able to approve, coordinate with the Underwriting department for approval.
- Sending out Acceptance letter once approved, journalizing appropriately and processing endorsement if required.
- Follow-up on outstanding requirements after policy has been issued.
- Correspond professionally with the other departments on a daily basis.
- Routinely correspond with TPA/Producers.
- Complete projects and other duties as assigned by Supervisor / Manager.
Education, Experience & Knowledge
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum of two years of relevant and progressive experience in area of specialization
