Policy Analyst
Job Summary
The Policy Analyst is responsible for providing research and staff support to assigned staff groups and/or committees. The role involves monitoring, researching, writing, and presenting on state, federal, and international policy issues. Collaboration with CSG's policy, membership, and communications teams, as well as regional offices, affiliates, and members, is essential.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Maintain awareness of relevant policy developments at state, federal, and international levels.
- Conduct research on innovative policies and programs, analyze findings, and communicate results to policymakers.
- Develop and write policy analysis papers and communication pieces.
- Collaborate with the Communications staff and external writers on reports and research products.
- Support the planning and execution of meetings, workshops, and conferences.
- Assist in the planning and coordination of collaborative projects.
- Present research and other organizational information to various groups.
- Represent CSG constituents in external forums.
- Provide staff support to CSG committees.

Education And Experience Requirements
- One (1) year of relevant work experience in state, local, or federal government, a public policy organization, membership association, non-profit, or other relevant organization.
- Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field of study or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Demonstrated experience and knowledge of general state government public policy, policy issues, and programming.
- Experience working collaboratively with multiple partners, especially with public officials.

Pay
The salary range for this position, based in Lexington, KY, is $55,000 to $65,000. This salary range is subject to change based on work location and market conditions.
