UK HealthCare Police Sergeants are responsible for providing the UK HealthCare community with a safe and secure environment in which to work, live and learn. This position will serve primarily at Chandler Hospital. The major job responsibilities of the UK HealthCare Police Sergeant include supervision and management; patrol and investigations; public relations and service; and professional development and training.
Responsibilities
- Providing supervision to the UKPD HealthCare operations
- Reviewing and approving reports
- Developing Officers
- Patrolling on foot, bike, and mobile patrol
- Enforcing the law
- Investigating crimes
- Building community relations
- Preparing and presenting testimony in court
- Providing security and traffic control for special University events
- Completing University and law enforcement related reports
- Working overtime especially in high volume seasons (university move in, football, basketball, etc.)
- Changing shifts
- Working special duty events
- Attending meetings
- Positively interacting, enhancing relations, and representing the University with local law enforcement and community partners
Requirements

- Required Related Experience: 4 years
- Required License/Registration/Certification: Police Certification
- Physical Requirements: Lifting, pushing, or pulling of objects up to 100 lbs.; sitting for long periods of time; walking for long periods of time; standing for long periods of time; handling intermittent periods of high levels of stress.
Pay
Salary Range: $28.03‑46.24 per hour
Schedule
Shift: Rotating 12‑hour shifts with every other weekend off. Must be able to work any of the following: 6:00 am – 6:00 pm; 6:00 pm – 6:00 am; Days, Nights, Weekends, Holidays, and mandatory Overtime.
