Qualifications

  • Education: High School graduate or equivalent, Associates Degree preferred.
  • Ability to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.
  • Be able to follow written and oral instructions.
  • Texas Peace Officer License, minimum of Intermediate Certification through TCOLE, valid Texas Class C driver’s license required.

Training and Experience

  • Extensive knowledge of the Texas Penal Code, Code of Criminal Procedures and criminal investigations.
  • Must be able to qualify for Texas Motor Vehicle Insurance.
  • Must have a minimum of five (5) years’ experience as a Police Officer, without a 180-day break in service and at least two (2) years of investigative experience.
  • Good management skills, current knowledge of law enforcement, and good communication skills.

Unusual Physical Demands And Working Conditions

  • Must have visual, auditory, and olfactory acuity.
  • Requires lots of standing, walking and climbing.
  • Must be able to work under stressful conditions with varying work hours and shifts.
