Police Officer/Recruit
Summary Of Job Duties
The Police Officer/Recruit is certified by the State of Arkansas to enforce law and safeguard our campus community. Primary responsibilities include:
- Engage with members of the community to build positive relationships, address community issues, and promote trust and cooperation.
- Conduct proactive patrols in assigned areas to deter criminal activity and maintain order.
- Enforce traffic laws and regulations, conduct traffic enforcement and respond to accidents to ensure road safety.
- Respond promptly to emergency calls and incidents, ensuring public safety and providing assistance as needed.
- Collaborate with other law enforcement agencies, emergency services, and community organizations to address public safety concerns and implement crime prevention strategies.
- Maintain accurate records of incidents, arrests, and activities and prepare detailed reports for documentation and analysis.
Qualifications
- The formal education equivalent of a high school diploma
- Must possess a valid state motor vehicle operators license
- Must be a United States Citizen
- Must be at least 20 years + 6 months of age
Additional Information
- Per the Commission on Law Enforcement Standards and Training (CLEST) - Rule 1002: Every officer employed by a law enforcement agency must be a citizen of the United State of America or a Marshallese citizen and must be at least twenty-one (21) years of age at the time of hire
- Pre-employment Screening Requirements: Criminal Background Check, Sex Offender Registry, Financial Credit Check, Substance Abuse Testing, Motor Vehicle Registry.
