Responsibilities

• Essential Job Functions: This position is designated as a safety/security sensitive position and is subject to random drug and alcohol screening.
• Essential Functions: This position involves patrolling the city streets, responding to emergencies, conducting investigations, and enforcing laws and ordinances.

Requirements

• Eligibility Requirements: To be considered for employment as a Police Officer with the Little Rock Police Department, applicants must meet the criteria established by the State of Arkansas Commission on Law Enforcement, the State of Arkansas Civil Service Statutes, and the Little Rock Civil Service Rules and Regulations.
• Minimum Qualifications: Applicants must have a high school diploma or its equivalent, be at least 21 years old, and pass a background check.
• Additional Requirements: Must have at least 3 years of verifiable law enforcement patrol experience to be eligible for the Lateral Police program.

Pay

• Step Year 2026 Rates: $27.85 - $40.80 Hourly
• Pay Increases: Step 1 - $0.43, Step 2 - $0.55, Step 3 - $0.67, Step 4 - $0.79, Step 5 - $0.91, Step 6 - $1.03, Step 7 - $1.15, Step 8 - $1.27, Step 9 - $1.39, Step 10 - $1.51

Schedule

• Full-Time Civil Service Position
• Shift Differentials Paid for Hours Worked After 3:00 p.m.
