About the role
The Marana Police Department is seeking experienced peace officers to join our team. We are looking for individuals who are dedicated to ensuring the safety and security of our community.
Responsibilities
- Patrol assigned areas; enforce state and local laws and ordinances
- Maintain a community presence and respond to calls for service
- Respond to calls related to life and property protection, traffic incidents, and public safety emergencies
- Determine probable cause, identify and take suspects and offenders into custody, or refer charges for review and prosecution
- Prepare timely reports of arrests and incidents
- Conduct investigations and interact with witnesses, victims, suspects, and offenders
- Perform all duties in accordance with department policies and procedures
Requirements
- Currently certified as an AZ POST Peace Officer or an out-of-state certified peace/police officer (out-of-state laterals must complete the AZ Post Waiver process)
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- At least 21 years old at time of hire
- A U.S. citizen
- A valid Arizona Driver License at time of hire
- Compliant with Marana Police Department’s tattoo policy
Qualifications
To be considered for this position, applicants must demonstrate the ability to acquire knowledge of modern police work principles, practices, and procedures, state laws, city ordinances, first aid, and the geography of the Town. They must also understand and carry out oral and written instructions, analyze problems, and take effective action in emergency and stressful situations.
Skills
Successful candidates must show initiative, alertness, integrity, and reliability. They should also be able to observe accurately, remember names, faces, numbers, incidents, and places, and judge situations and people accurately.

Pay
Placement within the Police Officer Pay Plan will be based on experience and within the pay range of $30.0843/hour ($62,575.42/year) - $42.3314/hour ($88,049.33/year).
