About the role
Enforces university regulations and city and state laws as they apply to university property and designated areas.
Responsibilities
- Patrols, inspects, supervises, responds to, etc., routine Institutional Safety and/or police operations
- Performs standard assignments and responsibilities and makes recommendations for improvement/efficiency, resourcing, etc., as necessary
- Uses existing procedures to solve standard problems and/or correct standard, routine issues
- Conducts preliminary investigations, collecting and preserving evidence, etc.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- A valid Missouri operator's license (for positions at UMKC only, valid Kansas operator's license acceptable)
- Must obtain and maintain Missouri POST certification in accordance with current state requirements
Qualifications
- 30 college credit hours from an accredited college or university, OR 2 years of federal active duty military service with an honorable discharge OR 2 years of experience as a full-time POST-certified peace officer
Skills
Works within standardized procedures and practices to achieve objectives and meet established deadlines

Pay
Anticipated Hiring Range: $22.00 - $26.45 per hour
