Schedule
Primarily 8:00 am – 5:00 pm Monday – Friday. Occasional overtime, shift changes, and special-duty events required, especially during high-volume seasons (university move-in, football, basketball, etc.).

University of Kentucky Police Lieutenants provide the University community with a safe and secure environment in which to work, live, and learn. The department is service-oriented and specializes in meeting the needs of students, faculty, staff, patients, and visitors.
Responsibilities
- Supervise and manage a unit
- Conduct security and risk assessments
- Develop and train staff
- Schedule staff appropriately
- Provide security and traffic control for special University events
- Complete University and law-enforcement related reports
- Positively interact with and represent the University to local law enforcement and community partners
Requirements
- High-school diploma or equivalent
- Five years of related experience
- Current police certification
- Ability to lift, push, or pull objects up to 100 lbs.
- Ability to sit, walk, or stand for long periods
- Ability to handle intermittent periods of high stress
