Essential Duties & Responsibilities
The essential duties and responsibilities of a Police Lieutenant include:
- Supervising and directing the activities of police officers and other law enforcement personnel.
- Investigating criminal activity and enforcing laws and ordinances.
- Handling emergency situations and providing immediate assistance to citizens.
- Coordinating with other law enforcement agencies and community organizations.
- Training and mentoring new police officers.
- Maintaining records and reports on criminal investigations and law enforcement activities.
Minimum and Preferred Entrance Qualifications
- A Bachelor's Degree or higher in Criminal Justice, Public Administration, or a related field from an accredited institution.
- Two or more years of experience as a Police Sergeant.
- Experience in a medium to large municipality.
