Police Lieutenant

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

The essential duties and responsibilities of a Police Lieutenant include:

• Supervising and directing the activities of police officers and other law enforcement personnel.
• Investigating criminal activity and enforcing laws and ordinances.
• Handling emergency situations and providing immediate assistance to citizens.
• Coordinating with other law enforcement agencies and community organizations.
• Training and mentoring new police officers.
• Maintaining records and reports on criminal investigations and law enforcement activities.

Minimum and Preferred Entrance Qualifications

• A Bachelor's Degree or higher in Criminal Justice, Public Administration, or a related field from an accredited institution.
• Two or more years of experience as a Police Sergeant.
• Experience in a medium to large municipality.
