About the role
Champions Social Club is seeking an experienced and hospitality-driven Poker Room, Shift Manager to oversee the daily operations of our premier private membership poker room. This leadership role is responsible for ensuring operational excellence, game integrity, regulatory compliance, and an exceptional member experience while managing cash games, tournaments, and Poker Room Team Members.
Responsibilities
- Oversee the daily operations of the Poker Room, ensuring exceptional hospitality, game integrity, and operational excellence.
- Hire, train, coach, schedule, and supervise Poker Dealers, Floor Supervisors, and Poker Room Team Members.
- Manage daily cash games, tournaments, dealer rotations, table assignments, and overall game flow to maximize efficiency and member experience.
- Enforce house rules, tournament procedures, and company policies while making fair and timely rulings on game disputes.
- Deliver a luxury member experience by resolving guest concerns, building relationships, and maintaining a welcoming club atmosphere.
- Ensure compliance with Texas private club regulations, membership requirements, internal controls, and cash-handling procedures.
- Oversee player account creation, financial reconciliations, daily audits, bank balancing, and end-of-day closing processes.
- Assist with Cage operations and surveillance reviews as needed to support business operations and game protection.
- Monitor Poker Room performance, facility standards, and game integrity while maintaining a visible leadership presence on the floor.
- Partner with Club Leadership to drive player development, membership growth, tournaments, promotions, and operational improvements.
- Provide ongoing coaching, performance feedback, and accountability to Team Members while supporting a positive, high-performing culture.
- Perform other duties and special projects, as assigned in support of the Club's operational goals.
Experience & Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required; college degree preferred.
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
- 3+ years of management experience in poker operations, gaming, private clubs, casinos, or high-volume hospitality environments preferred.
- Strong knowledge of poker rules, game protection, tournament operations, and Title 31 reporting.
- Exceptional leadership, communication, conflict resolution, and guest service skills.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, overnight shifts, weekends, and holidays.
- Strong problem-solving, organizational, and basic math skills in a fast-paced environment.
- Current TABC and Texas Food Handler Certifications required, or the ability to obtain upon hire.
