About the role

Balance Health is the largest majority podiatrist owned practice in the country and the nation’s premier comprehensive lower-extremity focused Physician Practice. We are looking for a Surgical Podiatrist to serve our Nashville community at one of several clinics, with plans for continued growth and expansion in the region. The ideal candidate will be hard-working, comfortable performing surgery as well as routine care, with a phenomenal bedside manner who treats our patients with exceptional care.

Responsibilities

  • Examine patients’ legs and feet to diagnose diseases
  • Treat bone, muscle, and joint disorders affecting the feet and ankles
  • Perform surgical procedures as necessary along with wound care management as needed
  • Diagnose diseases and deformities of the foot and ankle using medical histories, physical examinations, x-rays, and laboratory test results
  • Prescribe medications, corrective devices, physical therapy, or surgery
  • Advise patients about treatments and foot and ankle care techniques necessary for prevention of future problems
  • Provide education/consultation to patients, family, and health care team
  • Provide health promotion and preventive medicine
  • Appropriately maintain medical records on assigned patients

Requirements

  • Minimum of three (3) years professional experience preferred
  • Current License as a Podiatrist in the State of Tennessee
  • Doctoral degree in Podiatric Medicine from an Accredited School of Podiatry
  • Board certification through the American Board of Foot and Ankle Surgery
  • Ability to observe, assess and record symptoms, reactions, and progress
  • Knowledge of legal and ethical standards for the delivery of medical care
  • Knowledge of the information and techniques needed to diagnose and treat human injuries, diseases, and deformities
  • Ability to identify complex problems and review related information to develop and evaluate options and implement solutions
  • Excellent listening, verbal, and written communication skills that allow effective working relationships with diverse patient, colleague, and vendor populations
  • PC Proficient with good working knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and Outlook and EMR database
  • Ability to provide legal proof of eligibility to work in the United States without sponsorship now or in the future
  • Ability to successfully pass an in-depth background investigation
