Key Responsibilities
- Diagnostics diseases and deformities of the foot using medical histories, physical examinations, x-rays, and laboratory test results.
- Treats bone, muscle, and joint disorders affecting the feet.
- Treats conditions such as corns, calluses, ingrown nails, tumors, shortened tendons, bunions, cysts, and abscesses by surgical methods.
- Prescribes medications, corrective devices, physical therapy, or surgery.
- Advises patients about treatments and foot care techniques necessary for prevention of future problems.
Qualifications
- Education Required: Doctor of Podiatric Medicine (DPM) degree from an accredited podiatric medical school
- Current New York State license and registration as a Podiatrist
- Board certification in Podiatry
- Experience Required: At least 2 year(s) of job related experience
- Preferred: Job experience as a Podiatrist
- Additional training and experience with the developmentally disabled population
