Podcast Political Debater
About Us
Our students write articles, host podcasts, and sponsor events—we even wrote a book! At Our National Conversation (ONC), we keep things civil at all times. Republicans, Democrats, and Independents are all welcome. In our conversations, we strive to answer the question, "What do we want to DO about this?" By focusing on solutions, we rise above the "blame game" that has become stale in our country. Our goal is to make ONC a household name—a trusted source of fair, accurate, and balanced information about politics and public policy.
Young people are inheriting a troubled world. At ONC, we develop America’s future leaders, equipping them with the skills they’ll need as they take it from here. Over 900 interns from across the U.S. have participated so far, guided by experienced mentors. Learn more at ournationalconversation.org.
ONC is a non-partisan media nonprofit comprised of student interns and volunteers. Our mission is Less Hate, More Debate. We aim to shift today’s culture away from negativity, finger-pointing, and rage-baiting.
About the Role
We’re assembling a group of debaters—those who stay informed about the political landscape and are ready to engage in back-and-forth dialogue via Zoom 1–2 times per month. Enthusiasm, chemistry, and wit are highly desired. These sessions are edited afterward and posted on our social media channels as podcasts.
Debaters will be part of our Media & Marketing group. This role is a great fit for someone who enjoys lively discussion and wants to contribute to a positive, solution-focused dialogue. New ideas are always welcome!
ONC has 40–50 student interns and a few volunteers. This is a volunteer position.
