PMO LEAD L1

About the role

The PMO Lead is responsible for complete end-to-end project management for assigned projects, including project planning, delivery, client interaction, troubleshooting, managing project operational parameters, and people management. This role can be based offshore or overseas and oversees 20–40 FTEs (2–5 Project Leads).

Responsibilities

• Works with the offshore Delivery Manager/Program Manager to ensure all delivery parameters (e.g., bulge, offshore ratio, effort underrun) align with the account plan.
• Ensures timely delivery to avoid penalty payouts and adheres to the project cashflow schedule.
• Contributes to increased value for the client and wallet share for Wipro through deployment of domain experts, consultants, and architects.
• Records and manages project issues, escalating as necessary.
• Handles the Change Request Process.
• Identifies, shares, highlights, and escalates risks captured in periodic status reports.
• Ensures required infrastructure (physical, hardware, software) is in place for team members.
• Manages people processes, including goal setting, feedback, career growth, and engagement.
• Develops risk mitigation and contingency plans; manages internal and external conflicts with minimal supervision.
• Understands key metrics, establishes sign-offs, initiates customer satisfaction (C-SAT) surveys, and acts on feedback.

Requirements

Knowledge

• Must Have:
  • Understanding and appreciation of relevant technologies.
  • Conceptual awareness of core project management techniques.
  • Understanding of estimation techniques, review mechanisms, and cost management.
  • Proficiency in quality management areas such as quality planning, inspection, and control.
  • Knowledge of customer engagement models, financial parameters, and delivery/operations parameters.
• Preferred:
  • Business domain understanding.
  • Understanding of the industry and competitive landscape.

Experience

• Must Have:
  • Experience managing multiple project modules as a Project Lead.
  • Proficiency in applying tools for effort, cost, schedule, and quality management.
  • Experience handling teams and working on proposals involving relevant project areas.
  • Process documentation for L1, L2, L3, and L4 processes.
  • Total relevant experience of 6+ years, with at least 18 months in a Lead role.
• Preferred:
  • Managed projects of reasonable size and complexity as a Project Manager or Lead.

Certifications & Assessments

PMCP/PMA certification is required.

PMO (Project Management Office) expertise is mandatory.

Pay

Expected compensation for this role ranges from $60,000 to $135,000. Final compensation will depend on factors such as geographical location, minimum wage obligations, skills, and relevant experience.
