About the Role
Provides clinical and medical care for Freedom House clients in the crisis unit and outpatient locations, ensuring quality care.
Responsibilities
- Deliver direct services including screenings, diagnosis, patient placement, consulting, medical administration, and brief therapy.
- Sign patient treatment plans and other necessary forms in a timely manner following medical record procedures.
- Prescribe medications in compliance with program policy and State/MCO and Federal guidelines.
- Demonstrate flexibility and responsiveness to persons served.
- Assist administration in achieving provider status on managed care panels by providing requested information promptly and accurately.
- Ensure appropriate documentation of all contacts.
- Provide treatment planning by preparing the initial diagnosis and collaborating with clinicians to describe client strengths, preferences, needs, and identify treatment goals and strategies.
- Assist with staff medical education as a knowledgeable, effective, and professional presenter.
- Provide crisis intervention and referrals in a prompt, effective, and professional manner.
- Participate in crisis on-call rotation on assigned evenings and weekends.
- Demonstrate flexibility in covering for other providers when needed.
- Coordinate management of the medical component effectively with Program Director, Clinical Supervisor, Medical staff, and administration.
- Provide psychiatric assessments via telepsych when needed.
- Attend in-services, staff meetings, and other staff functions as required by supervisor.
- Comply with Freedom House employment requirements, including monthly documentation of hours worked.
- Maintain a schedule approved by supervisor and demonstrate reliability in work attendance and leave requests.
