About the role
A nurse practitioner is responsible for evaluating, diagnosing, and treating patients with psychiatric disorders while providing high-quality, patient-centered care. The ideal candidate is compassionate, detail-oriented, and committed to helping individuals achieve mental wellness through medication management, psychoeducation, counseling, and care coordination to other services (TMS). This position offers access to renowned amenities of California and support from our experienced administrative staff.
Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality psychiatric care to patients, including diagnosis, treatment, and medication management.
- Diagnose and develop individualized treatment plans based on the patient's mental health needs.
- Offer counseling and psychotherapy services to patients and their families.
- Educate patients and their families about mental health conditions, treatment options, and self-care strategies.
- Collaborate with our multidisciplinary team to ensure comprehensive care for patients, including therapy, medication management, and social support.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, including treatment plans, progress notes, and medication management records.
- Participate in treatment planning and case conferences to ensure holistic and individualized care for each patient.
- Contribute to improving and advancing our mental healthcare services through participation in quality improvement initiatives and staying current with evidence-based practices.
- Support business development efforts through community outreach, events, and content contributions for media including articles, blogs, social media, and more.
- Assist with training new PMHNPs and site staff, as appropriate.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Master's degree from an accredited nursing program or an accredited physician assistant program.
- 1 year of post-graduate paid experience in a behavioral health setting required.
- Experience as a Nurse Practitioner in mental health care and psychiatric care.
- Valid and current CA Nurse Practitioner license without any disciplinary action.
- Valid Drug Enforcement Administration (“DEA”) registration.
- Valid credentialing with commercial insurance payors.
- Successful clearance of pre-employment health screening.
- Valid Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (“CPR”) and First Aid Card.
- Current Tuberculosis (“TB”) or X-Ray clearance.
- Successful clearance of Department of Health Care Services (“DHCS”) and Guardian.
Skills
- Ability to function independently with regards to most clinical decision making.
- Ability to communicate effectively with physicians and ancillary staff.
- Ability to utilize Electronic Medical Records (“EMR”) system and document effectively.
- Strong knowledge of mental health disorders and treatment modalities.
- Knowledge of medications, indications, dosage ranges, side effects, and potential toxicity.
- Empathy and compassion for clients.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Work Environment
The work environment for this position is primarily an office or clinic setting. The noise level is typically moderate, with occasional distractions common in a healthcare environment. The facility is climate-controlled to ensure comfort for employees and patients, with exposure to medical-grade disinfectants and cleaning solutions as part of infection control procedures.

- Maintain vision abilities such as close focus and adjusting focus for reading and screen work.

Pay
$165,000 - $200,000 annual salary, depending on experience.
Schedule
Monday through Friday, fully on-site.
