PM Traffic Anchor / Reporter

Responsibilities

• Prepare afternoon/evening report with dynamic graphics
• News gather for traffic reports
• Provide concise live traffic reports for afternoon/evening shows
• Research and report up-to-the-minute traffic conditions
• Communicate important traffic information to the show producers and show anchors promptly
• Maintain accuracy of corresponding graphics, video, and live shots
• Present traffic information to viewers through digital platforms including our station website, mobile app, and social media pages
• Produce transportation-related stories
• Anchor breaking news updates through the afternoon newscast, at the direction of news management

Qualifications

• Professional or college experience as a journalist and storyteller in a commercial television station
• Experience using traffic systems preferred
• Clear speech, basic knowledge of how to use a computer and basic knowledge of social media
• Familiarity with street and highway names and directions; quick to learn
• Must be creative and work well with others
